Shocker right – #brancusigroupie coming through! I guess what really resonates with me is how incredibly modern and relevant Constantin Brancusi’s work remains — like this piece, ‘The Origin of the World,’ dating back from 1920.
What I find even more compelling is what Brancusi had to say, whether about his own work or how one should, in his view, approach art in general. You get a sense of a man who really cut through the nonsense, you know? Something I appreciate.
In particular, I love this:
Don’t look for obscure formulas or mystery in my work. It is pure joy that I offer you.”
Touché. And on that note, have a joyous Easter y’all!
